The Final Show and Crowning on Saturday May 16th @ 7:30pm. Miss Universe Canada 2008, Samantha Tajik , will crown her successor at the end of beauty contest. The Beauty Queen Miss Universe Canada 2009 will represent her country in the Miss Universe competition pageant.
Miss Universe 2009, the 58th Miss Universe beauty pageant, will be held at the Atlantis Paradise Island, in Nassau, Bahamas on August 23, 2009. Dayana Mendoza, from Venezuela, winner of Miss Universe 2008, will crown her successor in the event.
Mariana Valente

Mariana was born in Brazil and moved to Canada at the age of 12. She is currently learning her third language as she completes her B.A Honours at York University in French Studies. Mariana’s completed her College Education in Early Childhood Education, and is now leading her to Teacher’s College; her goal is to become an elementary school teacher.
One of Mariana’s dreams is to follow in the footsteps of her grandmother, who devoted a great deal of her life to help others. As a continuation of her late grandmother’s work Mariana founded BASE (Brazilian Association for Social and Educational Support) in 2006, a charity that has the objective to help children in Brazil. Together with her family Mariana has been able to organize two annual Dinner and Dance Fundraisers that were completed with great success.
Mariana has also experience with pageants and modeling as she competed for the title of Miss Brazil Canada in 2005, she won the title of Miss Latina Canada 2007, now she hopes to be able to represent Canada, for the title of Miss Universe Canada 2009.
